Attempting to Blog

I've decided to dive into the world of blogging.  We'll see how long this lasts.  I love to read my friends blogs, but often don't have enough time to read as many of them as I'd like.  They have such wonderful ideas and are so crafty... but then I get overstimulated on things I want to do.  So it's probably better that I don't read them ALL the time.

I wanted to create this blog because I wanted a place other than Facebook to post pictures to share with family and friends.  I still have quite a few family and friends that don't do the whole Facebook riga-ma-roll (I don't blame you) so I wanted to provide them an avenue to see sweet baby Kason and keep up to date.

Speaking of Kason, he's been sleeping nearly all morning so I've been able to be very productive: clean bathrooms, kitchen, pack to go to Austin, prep his stuff for daycare, get my stuff together for work, eat breakfast, do laundry... and now, play.  Yes, blogging for me is playing.  I love to do this techie stuff... I need to take some more time to make this blog a little more appealing on the eyes... but no time for that right now.

I returned to work this week... and by returned, I attended a meeting in Chicago (Tue-Thur)... I then proceeded to take this Friday and next Friday off.  It was tough to leave Kason at the airport, but I felt completely comfortable with his Oma, John's mom, watching him.  And no surprise, she did WONDERFUL!!!  I got two nights of restful sleep with no baby waking me!!!  When I got back on Thursday, he looked even bigger... it's incredible how quickly they grown.  Going back to work was good for me.  I felt back in my element and I think in the long run, at least for now, I'll be a better parent by working.

Kason was born at 7 lbs 14 oz.  He then lost 7 oz in the first two days and was back to 7.10 when we left the hospital.  We just had his 2 month check up on Monday and he was already 12.1 lbs.  He's a big boy... and by big, I mean he's really long (in the 95%).  He's grown 4.5 inches in 2 months from 20 to 24.5.  We are out of 3 month clothes and working on 3-6...

This is me the day I went into labor

Kason- 7 weeks

He's a pretty cute kid, but then again he's mine, so of course I'm going to say that.  He's also a really happy baby and he's not real picky... yet.  He adjusts to most things we throw at him.  He sleeps really well and that has made all our lives much easier!!!  John has done a wonderful job as a dad and he really tries to be involved in as much as he can from bathing Kason, to feeding him and getting him up in the mornings.  It's quite comical to watch the two of them together.

Finally, I'll wrap up this post with what I am going to use this blog for:

1. My attempt to live a healthy life a-mist a chaotic schedule
2. My family (this will come mainly in the form of pictures, my new hobby)
3. My crafty projects

I hope you enjoy and maybe this blog will give you some ideas or inspiration to create something new, get outside and enjoy the beautiful world that God has given us, stay at home and cook a delicious meal, or a smile as you see cute new pictures of Kason.

With Love-
